restoring an old drive punch with sand paper and a drill press!
a Quick How-To!

browsing a bin of old used tools at hand and Sew i came across this little gem! a genuine W.M Johnson Inc Number 6 drive punch!
I honestly had no idea what it was until i started cleaning it. the etching was too clogged and unreadable. it was also duller then a butter knife. but i could tell it was good steel and worth restoring. W.M Johnson produced leather craft tools for 108 years until it was bought out by C.S Osborne in 1938. this particular punch looks to have been made most likely in the late 1920s or 1930s. very late in the companies history. you can tell because it says Newark N.J U.S.A. earlier production used a different font and worded their stamp differently. if anyone has any more details about this company i would love to hear about it in the comments.
this is also my first ever video that includes editing of any kind.
again special thanks to my wife for the help with that! I am a techno dinosaur after all.

Music was one of the free samples from Adobe Rush. sorry if you hate it.
